The New York Daily News, first reported the granted conditional sex offender pardons. According to the New York Post, in May the Governor pardoned 24,000 parolees.
Assemblyman Joseph A. Errigo (R,C,I,Ref-Conesus) blasted Gov. Cuomo’s proposal today to give at least 77 convicted pedophiles, rapists and other violent sexual abusers conditional pardons in order to restore their right to vote.
“Gov. Cuomo’s decision to give these heinous criminals pardons so they can vote says a lot about how low he will go to scoop up a few extra votes,” stated Errigo in a press release. “These people are a danger to society and should not be allowed to see the light of day, much less be granted the privileges of law-abiding citizens. In addition to his disastrous economic development programs, ‘free’ college and using his position to run for president, this has to be one of his biggest blunders during his entire tenure.”
