You may have recently seen articles in this paper reflecting activities of the the Geneseo Kiwanis Club. The members of the club invite you to become a part of our volunteer work in this community.

Geneseo Kiwanis is open to all. In recognition of evolving lifestyles and priorities, weekly meeting attendance, while encouraged, is no longer required. What is most important is members’ contribution of time to our fundraising efforts and programs, which are vital to our work in the community. Just come to as many meetings you can, so we can call you by name when you work beside us!

What are some of those fundraising activities? Our famous chicken bar-b-ques, the twice-yearly antique show and sale, a golf tournament, a reverse raffle, and other events such as the upcoming LasVegas night and an occasional bingo night.

What do we do with the money we raise? We support worthy individuals, groups, and activities that enrich the lives of those around us, especially our community’s children. A few of the programs we have supported are:
Eagle Scout projects Olympics of the Mind
Little League Young at Heart
Kamp Kiwanis Scholarships
Annual Halloween Parade Easter Egg Hunt
5th Grade Whale Watch Teresa House Hospice
Focus on the Children Geneseo Fiddlers’ Picnic
Friends of Wadsworth Library Geneseo Central School Theatrics
Boy Scout Troop 4070 Mama Cindy Soldiers’ Project
Girls on the Run Geneseo Youth Football, Softball, Little League
Geneseo Fire Department GCS Blue Devils Baseball
Livingston County Cares Geneseo Central School Education Fund
Geneseo Migrant Center Geneseo Blue Knights Youth Baseball
VFW Post 5005, Inc. Livingston County Historical Society

This is just a partial list. You, or someone you know, have probably benefited from our financial support or attended a program that we’ve sponsored.

Now Kiwanis invites your support through your time, talent, and commitment to your own community.

Please join us at a meeting on any Thursday at 6:15 at the Big Tree Inn, or check out our site at

If you are a high school or college student, you may participate with us through Key Club at GCS or Circle K at SUNY Geneseo.

We welcome everyone’s participation and fellowship!
