From her vantage point securely perched in her new basin, Emmeline relayed she was ecstatic about being in the center of things for last Saturday’s holiday events in Geneseo. Having the horse drawn carriage circling the fountain around her was a special treat.
It was also pleasing to note the collaboration between many different groups that made the day so memorable. She heard that the Geneseo Community Main Street group, Geneseo Rotary, Geneseo Central elementary and high schools, Garden Club, VFW, the Baughmans Tree Farm, Santa, the Homestead, Geneseo and SUNY Police, Public Works and Geneseo Fire Department all played parts in making the day so successful.
Even though her back was turned, Emmeline loved the whiffs of aromas from bags of cookies and fresh s’mores the kids were carrying, and sensed later there must have been a lot of carolers behind her because their music filled the air.
It was a glorious kick off for the holiday season, and Emmeline wanted to express her gratitude to all who helped make it so. “Following my hospital stay last year it’s great to be back where I belong and great to remember that the long-standing practice of our community organizations working together is a real benefit to all of us.”
