Electronic waste collections have been scheduled for Town of Bristol, Ontario County, and for Batavia on Saturday, Aug. 1. Pre-registration is required for both events, with only the first 500 applicants accepted for each.
In Bristol, collection will be at the Bristol Highway Facility, located at 6740 County Rd. 32. To pre-register, call 394-3977, ex.427. The collection is for computer, video, and audio equipment and does not include things such as refrigerators, air conditioners or dehumidifiers, and batteries. People having electronic equipment can call the number above and ask if it will be accepted when they pre-register, or they can access OntarioCountyRecycles.org to see where other types of equipment, furniture, and tires could be recycled.
In Batavia, the recycling event is being done by Sunn-king, and also accepts the first 500 pre-registrants. Sunn-King will be collecting electronic waste, including CRT Tvs (limit of 4) from 8:30-noon on Aug. 1 in the parking lot of the Genesee County Department of Social Services, located at 5130 E. Main St., #3. Enter off Ag Park Drive West. This is a drive-through event, and particpants are asked NOT to get out of their car. Sunn-King helpers will unload the equipment for you.
