GENESEO — A pedestrian was struck by a 1992 Toyota Camry on Lakeville Road (20A) just after 5 P.M. Tuesday evening. Initial reports were that she was lying motionless in the road.

State Police, Livingston County Deputy Sheriffs, and Geneseo Fire and EMS quickly responded to the scene and determined that the elderly female victim was conscious, breathing, and is going to be ok, but still transported her to Strong Memorial Hospital to be thoroughly checked for injuries.
The driver of the camry said he was on his way to a church meeting when he struck the elderly woman near her home in the dark.
“I’m ok, a little traumatized…well, not traumatized, just a little in shock,” said the driver. “I am so sorry this has happened. I was just on my way to a church meeting.”
The area is clear to traffic as of 6 P.M., but be aware that Deputies are still conducting their investigation on scene.
