AVON – The Livingston County Drug Task Force reports the arrest last Friday of a former Livingston County resident for the alleged sale of powder cocaine to undercover police that occurred within the past 6 months.
Matthew House, 39, was arrested in Forestville, NY on May 29 on a Superior Court Warrant and charged by the Avon Police Department with of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third Degree, a B felony.
Assistant District Attorney Josh Tonra extended an offer on Tuesday to House and his attorney, Assistant Public Defender John D’Arpino, of a plea to Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a C felony, with a sentence recommendation of 3 years in state prison and 3 years post-release supervision.
House, a 6 foot, 280 pound former resident of Avon, is being held in the Livingston County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
According to the NYS Department of Corrections, House spent 1 1/2 years at Cayuga Correctional Facility for Assault in the Second Degree.
The Livingston County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the following agencies: the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Avon Police Department, Caledonia Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Geneseo Police Department, Mount Morris Police Department, NYS Park Police, Nunda Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
