LIVINGSTON COUNTY – The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for several counties in Western New York extending into early Friday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, from 10 a.m. Thursday morning through 1 p.m. on Friday winds will be out of the southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. The strongest of these winds are expected tonight.
The advisory includes Wayne, Cayuga, Livingston, Ontario, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties, including the towns of Newark, Fairhaven, Geneseo, Canandaigua, Olean and Wellsville.
Strong winds are expected to make travel hazardous for high profile vehicles and may down tree limbs and power lines resulting in power outages.
The National Weather Service added that drivers of high profile vehicles should use caution until the winds subside.
