GENESEO – The driver who was involved in Tuesday morning’s truck rollover passed away from his injuries.
According to a press release from New York State Police, the deceased is Trent Mott, 56, from Rochester.
On Aug. 29 at approximately 8:48 a.m. the truck was southbound on Groveland Road and drifted over the center of the roadway, near the right shoulder. His vehicle then veered off the left shoulder and overturned.
State Police declined to speak on camera at the scene, but NYSP Captain Kevin Reilly said that the driver was transported in an ambulance. A medical helicopter landed a short distance away but did not transport the driver.
Mott was taken to Strong Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers closed the road for well over an hour while conducting their investigation.
Reilly said at the scene that State Police commercial vehicle specialists were examining the vehicle for mechanical problems. There is no official word on their findings and the investigation continues.
