LIVINGSTON COUNTY – Southern Livingston County is experiencing widespread blackouts as the result of downed power lines on the border of Mount Morris and Nunda.
According to online outage maps by Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) and National Grid, about 3,970 people are without power in an area that includes Nunda, Portageville, Mount Morris, Groveland and Conesus.
Electrical lines are currently down and first responders are detouring traffic. A small grass fire was reported as one of the power lines sparked a nearby field. Nunda firefighters responded to that scene.
RG&E says that power is expected to be restored by 7:45 p.m.
About 800 people in Pike and 47 people in Dalton are also without power.
