GENESEO — The ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Doty Hall, SUNY Geneseo’s new main entrance, has been announced and the public is invited to attend.
According to a press release from SUNY Geneseo the ribbon cutting ceremony will be March 1 at 2 p.m. with two days of exhibits and concerts to be included.
The building bears the name of Doty, a former Livingston County judge, known for his exemplary legal career in Geneseo and Livingston County and for his leadership in many local civic and social organizations. The building itself was the Geneseo Junior-Senior High School from 1932-73 and then became state property for various functions. The Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) had been in the building prior to the renovation and has returned to Doty, where the office resides on the first floor.
Other offices now located in Doty Hall are the president’s office; the admissions office; college advancement, including college communications and alumni relations; virtually all of administration and finance, including purchasing, accounting and human resources.Event is free and open to the public.
