New York State Police were called to investigate a Husband fighting with his wife in the Town of Cohocton on Wednesday September 11th.
When State Police arrived they found a man sitting outside the residence drinking a beer, he was agitated and highly intoxicated. Michael Wood, age 40, said his wife and mother-in-law attacked him but he showed no signs of any injuries. When State Police interviewed the wife, she told police that she had been drinking with her husband outside for his birthday, when he got irritated with her and started yelling at her. The husband, Michael Wood, then started dragging her around the yard by her hair and started kicking her. Wood then attempted to keep the wife from making a phone call to 911. The wife explained that her mother tried to intervene but Wood, struck the mother-in-law on the back. Both victims were able to get in the house and lock Wood out while they called 911. Michael Wood was advised by State Police that he was being placed under arrest, at which time he stated “No I’m not” and then resisted arrest. Michael Wood was arrested for Assault 3rd, Criminal Contempt, Criminal Mischief, Harassment and resisting arrest and was sent to the Steuben County Jail to wait for arraignment.
