LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Convicted sex offender, Robert Bentley, is allegedly keeping himself busy while he sits in state prison by forging documents for his appeal.
The convicted sex offender, who is serving a 5-10 year sentence for conspiracy and plotting to kidnap and rape his probation officer, is now charged with offering a a false instrument and is accused of forging an affidavit in appeal of his conviction.
Livingston County Assistant District Attorney, Justin Hill, stated on the record an offer of 2-4 years to be served consecutive with his current sentence. Bentley has a max release year of 2024.
In Thursday’s court proceedings Bentley’s attorney, Lindsay Quintilone, entered a not guilty plea on her clients behalf so that she can review the case and discuss the options with her client.
Due to a prior conviction for felony Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child, Bentley was sentenced as a second felony offender. After that conviction he was considered a level 3 sex offender, at the highest risk to re-offend.
