LIVONIA – A three-car accident sent three people to the hospital from 20A (Big Tree Road) Friday evening.
According to first responders on scene, an SUV and a Chevy Impala were facing eastbound on Big Tree Road waiting to turn left onto Longview Boulevard when a Chevy Prizm rear-ended the Impala at about 6:34 p.m., pushing it into the SUV.
Two of the drivers and one passenger were transported to the hospital presenting neck and back pain.
The SUV sustained minor damage to its trailer hitch. Its driver was soon able to drive it from the scene.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office ticketed the driver of the Prizm for Following Too Closely. The driver was allegedly checking his radio when he rear-ended the Impala.
New York State Police temporarily closed eastbound traffic on Big Tree Road. Westbound traffic remained open.
Firefighters with the Livonia Fire Department responded to the scene along with three Livonia ambulances, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, and NYS Police.
