The Durty Bikes Gravel Series will be hosting a summer gravel challenge. Racers are permitted to compete solo or in groups of 5 or less under strict rules and guidelines.
Racers can use Strava to compete on timed segments for prizes, including Castelli winners’ jerseys in all fields, raffles across all fields, and cash in the open fields.
The race will feature some of the original courses, some new modifications, and two brand new courses for gravelicious racing that will reach from Buffalo to Oswego!
According to the sponsors the contest rules and guidelines adhere to all CDC recommendations. These rules and guidelines are the same as similar outdoor activities that are currently open in NYS, including NYS parks, public pools, beaches, and golf courses.
Additionally, although this is not a USAC event (we are insured by NACS)
these guidelines also adhere to USAC recommendations for group riding.
Racing will begin on June 15 and will end on August 15 so register today!
About the Courses and Competition
We will not show you the courses before the competition, no matter how nicely you ask. Registered riders will receive the courses once the race window opens.
All courses will be 50 miles or less with 4,500 feet or less. You can ride them in any order, and you do not need to complete all courses to compete. However you must complete the full course to be scored in the segments. Overall course time does not count in scoring.
Three of the courses are a version (maybe with some new added fun) of our original series courses that we advertised prior to COVID-19. Two are all new courses – one in Lacona from Bryan Blake of GHITV and one in Bennington, NY brought to you by our good friends Ethan Johnson and Alex Davies of Campus Wheelworks.
* Course Locations: Prattsburgh, NY; Hector, NY; Naples, NY; Lacona, NY; Bennington, NY.
