LIVINGSTON COUNTY– The Livingston County Development Corporation promises to give businesses the best edge they can, now more than ever. The Development Corp. has several big events planned for the next few months to benefit local business.

Besides giving grants every year to businesses on their first legs, the Development Corp. partially funds many local events that get people into shops that they would usually pass up. The Geneseo Merchancts Association Wine Stroll on Friday is one, the miniature chicken wings festival known as “Wingfest” in the park during Autumnfest is another. But all will culminate in “Destination Downtown,” a huge conference and seminar by legendary marketing guru Jon Shallert in October.
“Mr. Shallert is incredibly difficult to book,” said Louise Wadsworth, Downtown Coordinator for the Development Corp. “He only does a few conferences a year, but he really knows how to make businesses, Main Streets and towns stand out. His talk will not be a thing to miss.”
To help everyone keep in touch with events and news, the Development Corp. has revamped its website this week, making it easier for anyone to use a site selector, browse grant applications, or learn more about possible tax exemptions. The updated site includes a searchable property database, local business directory, and downloadable county data.
Livingston County business owners are invited to send in photos of their businesses to be featured on the new website, and to contact the Development Corp. to sign up for the Destination Downtown conference.
