The Agency agreed to enter terms as part of their continued Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as they will partner together in order to generate additional sales tax revenue in the County.
According to New York State Tax records, in Livingston County takes 4% of the 8% of sales tax revenue from taxable purchases. In order for the County to break even on the investment, they will need to see an increase of $1 million in sales taxable revenue spent in Livingston County.
Last year, the County generated $31.128 million in sales tax revenue, a portion of which was returned to local Towns and Villages.
According to the bylaws, the vote must be approved by the Livingston County Board of Supervisors.
