LIVINGSTON COUNTY – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people in three days for allegedly sneaking drugs into the County Jail.
According to multiple press releases from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, arrested were Albert Knorr, 41, of Belfast; Gene Brown, 38, of Rochester; Giliberto Lebron, 34, of Mount Morris; and Samantha Willey, 32, of Geneseo. The Sheriff’s Office charged all four with felony Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
“These pro-active arrests inside our jail facility show the dedication and commitment our Deputies stationed inside the Livingston County Jail possess,” said Dougherty. “Unfortunately, we consistently have inmates, and visitors to these inmates, that are constantly attempting to smuggle drugs in and I commend the Deputies for doing an outstanding job of combating those illegal actions.”
On Friday, Nov. 4, Knorr was arrested by Road Patrol Deputies for a misdemeanor drug charge after a one-vehicle accident. At about 7:20 a.m., his vehicle left River Road in Mount Morris and struck a culvert, inflicting minor injuries on him and his female passenger. Further investigation revealed that Knorr was in possession of a large quantity of Alprazolam pills. While entering the jail, Corrections Deputy Zach Scott searched Knorr and found eight baggies of what is believed to be heroin. Knorr was charged with Felony Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Geneseo Town Justice Kathleen Houston arraigned Knorr and remanded him to the Livingston County Jail without bail due to prior felony convictions.
Also on Friday Nov. 4, Brown was arrested by Road Patrol Deputies for a misdemeanor drug charge. Brown was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail. Corrections Deputy Lazlo Babosci searched Brown and found a baggie of what is believed to be cocaine in his possession. Brown was charged with the Felony of Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Geneseo Town Justice Kathleen Houston arraigned Brown and remanded him to the Livingston County Jail without bail due to prior felony convictions.
Again on Friday Nov. 4, Lebron, an inmate at the Livingston County Jail, was found to have 27 Suboxone strips following a random cell search. Lebron is currently held on a Parole Violation. He will be arraigned on Nov. 9 on new charges: felony Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Lebron is held at the Livingston County Jail without bail due to prior felony convictions.
On Sunday Nov. 6, Willey came to the Livingston County Jail to visit her recently incarcerated husband. During her visit, Willey brought in items that her husband was allowed to have while in jail. Corporal Matthew Polizzi searched the items and found a hidden strip of Suboxone. Deputies charged Willey with felony Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, felony Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Geneseo Town Justice Kathleen Houston arraigned Willey and ordered her held at the Livingston County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond at the recommendation of the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
