Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Dansville resident on felony charges following an
investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
On September 3rd, 2022, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Genesee Street in the Town of York for the
report of a burglary. Upon arrival Deputies were advised that someone had entered the residence and stole property.
It is alleged through the investigation that Tamara L. Parsons, age 40 of Dansville NY, had entered the residence
unlawfully and stole property belonging to the homeowner.
On June 1st, 2023 Parsons was located in the Village of Dansville and taken into custody by the Dansville Police
Department and turned over to Sheriff’s Deputies. Parsons was charged with felony Burglary in the Second Degree and
Petit Larceny.
Parsons was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing
and pre-arraignment detention. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in regards to bail due to the felony level
charges. It was recommended that Parsons be held on $500 cash or credit or $5,000 bond.
Parsons was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail
before Town of Groveland Justice Love. The Judge did set bail at $500 cash, $500 credit or $5,000 bond.The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Parsons at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified but did not appear to represent the People.
The investigation was handled by members of the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and Forensic
Identification Unit.
