Dansville Police Chief Charles Perkins was placed on administrative leave, following a unanimous vote by the Dansville village board of trustees, on Aug. 28. The vote followed an executive session and discussion with Perkins present. Perkins has been with the police force for 34 years, the last 20 as police chief. According to Dansville mayor Pete Vogt, no reason could be given because it was a personnel matter, although nothing criminal is involved that he knew of. Shannon Griese was appointed acting police chief.
