GENESEO – A Dansville resident and wife of accused meth cook John Young was the driver of the SUV which rolled over on 390 near Lima Road on Wednesday, resulting in traffic tickets for herself and drug charges for her passenger.
Emily Young, 28, and her passenger were not injured as a result of the accident, and Young was issued two traffic tickets.
The passenger, whose identity has yet to be officially confirmed, was arrested on drug charges at the scene when it was discovered that she had a Suboxone pill in her pocket.
Emily Young’s husband, John Young, 30, was arrested on Friday Aug. 14 and arraigned on Criminal Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the Third Degree, a C felony, and Unlawful Disposal of Methamphetamine Laboratory Equipment, an E felony. Their house became the site of a State Police investigation on Aug. 9.
Emily Young appeared in court to support her husband, who asked for bail to be reduced or waived because one of their three children is being treated for cancer. Dansville Justice Joshua Weidman remanded John Young to the Livingston County Jail on $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
The vehicle was traveling on 390 southbound at about 11:52 a.m. when it suddenly left the road, struck the roadside embankment, and rolled.
Young told first responders on scene that she was traveling at about 70 mph at the time of the accident.
Firefighters and an ambulance crew with Geneseo Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene alongside a Livingston County ambulance, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
