LIVINGSTON COUNTY — A high speed chase that included speeds in excess of 100 mph resulted in a Dansville man being charged with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and numerous other charges.
According to a press release from Livingston county Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, David Sharpe, 45, was arrested after Deputy Caleb Cutting attempted to pull Sharpe over for allegedly speeding in Geneseo on Lakeville Road this past Friday night when the suspect then fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
In order to protect the community the chase was called off and Sharpe was later found in Honeoye Falls.
Sharpe was arraigned in the Town of York before Town Justice Porter and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff on $5,000 cash bail or a $10,000 bond. Sharpe was turned over to the Livingston County Jail. Sheriff Dougherty credited Deputy Cutting, Deputy Flickner, Deputy Barrett and Sergeant Breu for handling the investigation and arrest. The Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by Troopers Kleinhans and McFadden of the NYSP.
