LIVINGSTON COUNTY — A Dansville man facing multiple criminal charges plead guilty to DWI and grand larceny which included stealing funds from the Dansville Youth Football program.
According to court records Brian Douglas, 34, while facing pending DWI charges, used a Dansville Mustang Youth Football ATM card and withdrew $300 with out approval. According to the Dansville Youth Football website he is a board member where he is listed as the Assistant Athletic Director.
According to Livingston County District Attorney, Greg McCaffrey, the DWI charges were from a separate incident where Douglas claimed a pal was driving a vehicle he was in and struck a home. He later confessed to being the driver of the vehicle where he was then charged with DWI. While those charges were pending he then withdrew the funds from the Dansville Youth Football account.
Under the plea deal Douglas was sentenced to time serve which was approximately a month in jail, pay $2,500 in fines for the DWI charges, pay $338 in restitution to the Dansville Youth Football program, and will also serve 5 years on probation.
