Dansville Holds Hearing for Proposed Increase in Sewer and Water Rates

DANSVILLE – A public hearing will be held in Dansville next week for the public to weigh in on a proposed solution to increase water and sewer rates in the village.

According to news partner 13WHAM, the Village of Dansville Board of Trustees is holding the public hearing in order to get feedback on the proposed resolution.

The board is proposing that the quarterly base water rates in the village increase from $72 to $88. Outside of the town, the proposal is to raise the quarterly base rate from $88 to $104. For sewer service, the proposal is for the base charge to increase from $64 to $90 in the village and from $80 to $105 outside the village.

The usage rates for water and sewer service both in and out of the village will increase by 50 cents if the proposal passes.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28 at 6 p.m. in the Genesee Community College building at 31 Clara Barton St.
