Dansville Central School District Residents Asked to Vote on New Propositions

DANSVILLE — Two new propositions for school district residents to vote upon warrant a special designated election.

Residents of the Dansville Central School District are asked to vote in a special school election on Oct. 16, from noon to 8pm in the high school foyer.

“Proposition One is a vote on the construction, reconstruction and equipping of existing school buildings and facilities, site and incidental improvements, all at an estimated maximum aggregate cost of $9,610,000,” according to the school district. “Proposition Two is a proposal to buy a 4-acre parcel of land across from the present day school and a 2.2 acre parcel located at 343 Main St, to allow for reconfiguration of the current offices into rooms for student services.”

Due to state aid and the saving of money from capital reserves over the years, approval of these propositions will not increase taxes.
