“Last year we had bad weather, so we are hoping for a greater turnout this year,” said Howard. “The Genesee Rotary Camp is a one-week summer camp for children and young adults with disabilities. The ages range from 8 to 21 and this camp is a non-for-profit organization that hosts about 100 children and 60 staff members each summer. It’s a pretty remarkable place.”
In addition to the BBQ competition, the event features music throughout the day, featuring local favorite Lucky Number in the evening. There will be a pie baking competition, and this year kids will be able to compete in their very own kids baking competition featuring nut butters from Once Again Nut Butter.
DTCA will be selling their version of the garbage plate, brisket sandwiches, whole roast pig, Ed’s famous wood fire pizza and more! Proceeds from this portion of the event will be donated to the Genesee Valley Rotary Camp.
Jack’s Place of Dansville will be selling adult beverages, Ice Cream Island will have frosty treats and Simple Autumn Café and Restaurant of Wayland will be on hand with coffee and pastries.
