On Saturday, Jan. 26, during the Dansville ArtWorks’ Fourth Annual Student Art Showcase, five participants were honored with awards. Best of Show winners included Kinleigh Lawrence, Colleen Carney, Emily Henry, Trina White, and Mora Mundt. Colleen Carney was also awarded People’s Choice.
“It is one of art’s purposes to make people think and feel,” art teacher Sam Stieve stated, regarding the board’s deliberation process. “The artist’s intentions are an aspect of art appreciation that it is critical for students to know.”
The Student Art Showcase will remain on display until Feb. 23 at Dansville ArtWorks.
