DANSVILLE – Dansville ArtWorks opened their Juried Photography Exhibit and awarded the three winning photographers for Best of Show on Thursday.
According to a press release from Dansville ArtWorks, the winners are: Kristine Tenalio and Storm to the South, with First Place Best of Show and a $100 award; Dick Thomas and Inspiration with Second Place Best of Show with a $50 award; Joanna Jennings and Stagecoach Road, Dansville 2015 with Third Place Best of Show and a $25 award.
Guest juror Cynthia Hawkins, who is also Director of Galleries for SUNY Geneseo, selected the winners.
An additional People’s Choice Award, a $25 gift certificate, was awarded based on visitor votes during the opening reception. Kristine Tenalio’s Upper Falls received this honor.
Many of the photographs in the exhibit are available for purchase. Some of the artists have consigned other pieces in the gallery gift shop.
The exhibit is free and now open to the public. It will feature 34 pieces by 15 photographers and will run through Saturday, March 26. The gallery is open Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Restorations Unlimited, owned by Tracy Kent of Dansville, is sponsoring the exhibit. Through Restorations Unlimited, Kent creates custom frames and canvases, some of which are on display and available for purchase at Dansville ArtWorks. Special projects may be commissioned with Kent directly.
Dansville ArtWorks Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate and enhance the visual, literary and performing arts opportunities in the greater Dansville community.
