With the due date of March 30, I can already tell you that Mattie is going to be a drama queen when she does fianlly make her grand entrance.
It’s really wild, but as we all get antsy I feel that this kid already knows what she is doing. Like I have previously said, this is my first kid. I’ve spent the first 40 years going to the beat of my un-rythmical drum. At times, I have left a path of a destructive tornado behind me, and I now shake my head in disbelief at how the anticipation of a child can sort out your head so easily. Life is full of miracles – and they come in all shapes and at all different times of your life.
A family bonds through this experience, for myself and for pregnant Mom, and even our other loved ones. Our family is in the midst of some very difficult times. It’s crazy with how much everything piles up on you at times in life. We have had to put our beloved 15-year old-dog down, are coping with a serious family illness, business challenges, and military duties — it’s part of life. The little beacon of light that we now awaits is a shining ray of happiness in some difficult times for us all.
Everyone is tremendously excited and concerned for Mom and Mattie to come through this in good health. Mattie is going to have a big sister who is more excited then anyone could imagine. Big sis’ has already made Mattie artwork and even took a snooze in the baby room. It’s love in it’s purest form and they haven’t even met each other yet.
So here we are, awaiting the arrival. I already lost out on the due date pool. Now, the way things are going I only can anticipate that Mattie will arrive on April fools. So I Googled ‘How to know when your baby will be born’.
It’s absolutely shocking. Google has quite a few theories, but does not have the answer. No one does. I think I have discovered the one question that Google does not have an answer for. We can get a robot to tweet us from mars but we don’t know when a baby is going to be born. It’s baffling to me and all of this just adds to the anticipation of meeting my daughter for the first time.
So, as I was researching ways you can trigger labor my Aunt texted me, ‘Grandpa used to say take a ride down a bumpy road in the car.’
Now thanks to Google, I unfortunately know what Grandma and Grandpa were up to on those bumpy roads.
