LIMA – A local dad was arrested after allegedly taking punishment too far and throwing someone else’s 5-year-old into the ground, inflicting minor injuries at the Lima Crossroads Apartment Complex in the Village.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Brian Mosher, 31, of Lima, was arrested for Endangering The Welfare Of a Child and Harassment in the Second Degree after an incident where his 8-year-old daughter said a 5-year-old boy had bitten her arm while playing with several other children.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Crossroads Apartment Complex and learned through the investigation that when the 8-year-old ran home and told Mosher, her father, that she had been bitten, Mosher allegedly chased the five year old throughout the complex, caught him, and carried him back to his apartment where he threw him to the ground in front of the boy’s mother.
Mosher then allegedly got into a verbal argument with the boy’s mother and then went back to his apartment. The boy sustained minor abrasions and was checked out at the scene by Lima Ambulance.
As there were no Lima Justice’s available at the time, Mosher was transported to Avon Town Court where he was arraigned in front of Avon Town Justice Torregiano. Mosher was remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
A Complete stay away order of protection was put into effect, ordering that Mosher is to stay away from the child.
The investigation and arrest were handled by Sheriff’s Deputies Michael Williams, Nicholas Truax and Sergeant Joseph Breu.
