LIVINGSTON COUNTY — District Attorney Greg McCaffrey said in County court Tuesday morning that the child porn charges filed against a Caledonia Assistant Boy Scout Leader are not the only repulsive conduct that police have alleged.
Daniel Fisher, 25, was arrested in August for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, an E felony, for allegedly possessing and sharing illegal images of children. DA McCaffrey added on Tuesday that Fisher is accused of enticing a 14-year-old boy into committing sexual acts.
“Mr. Fisher is undercharged at this point, as he is accused of soliciting and enticing a 14-year-old boy into committing sexual acts,” said DA McCaffrey. “We are in touch with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and they are readily able to take this case.”
Fisher had appeared with his attorney, Assistant Public Defender John D’Arpino, to ask that bail be reduced from its current amount of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
“Mr. Fisher has informed me that he is a lifelong resident of Livingston County,” said APD D’Arpino. “He says there is an awaiting job for him at SUNY Geneseo supervising sandwich shop staff at night.”
DA McCaffrey said that if anything, bail was set too low.
“If anything, bail is extremely low at this point,” said DA McCaffrey.
Fisher is not currently charged in connection to sex abuse.
