The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office recently received a report of a possible violation of an order of protection. It was discovered through a brief investigation that Bucci did indeed violate a previously established order of protection over the last several months.
“Over time, Bucci caused the protected party to fear for her physical safety,” said Investigator Josh Monster. “He was arrested on Friday.”
On May 31, 2013, Bucci broke into a protected party’s home in Geneseo. In September 2013, the Geneseo Village Court issued a warrant for Bucci’s arrest, but he was no linger in the village. Bucci was finally located and arrested when he submitted false information on a federal firearm application in Florida, according to Geneseo Police last September.
Officers from the Geneseo Police Department brought Bucci back to New York State in September to answer his criminal charges at the time, including criminal contempt in the first degree (a class E felony), criminal trespass in the second degree, aggravated harassment in the second degree, and criminal contempt in the second degree.
Bucci was recently arraigned for new violations in the Town of Sparta Court, and was later remanded to the custody of Sheriff Thomas Dougherty. Bucci is being held in Livingston County Jail on $100,000 cash bail, due to his previous record of criminal contempt arrests, as well as his previous extradition from Florida. The high bail amount was recommended by District Attorney Greg McAffrey’s Office.
Assisting in the investigation were Investigators Brad Schneider and Josh Monster, as well as Livingston County Deputies Caleb Cutting and Michael Wade.
