Crash Clogs Traffic on Main Street Mount Morris

MOUNT MORRIS An accident briefly blocked one lane of Main Street at the intersection with Chapel Street on Sunday New Year’s Eve.

According to first respnders at the scene, a vehicle stopped at the traffic light at Chapel Street while southbound on Main Street and another vehicle rear-ended it at about 11:30 a.m.

No one was seriously hurt but airbags deployed in at least one of the vehicles.

The lead vehicle was able to pull onto Chapel Street and wait for first responders to arrive.

First responders directed traffic for about an hour as the occupants of both vehicles were checked, the accident was investigated, and tow vehicles responded to remove the damaged vehicles.

The Mount Morris Police Department investigated.

The Mount Morris Fire Department responded to the scene with Mount Morris Ambulance and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
