LIMA – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office recovered what they believed to be crack cocaine from a traffic stop in the Village of Lima.

A press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty said that Sidney Morris, 62, was arrested for misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and an unspecified Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.
On Jan. 11 at approximately 10:20 p.m. Deputy Connor Sanford, who is assigned to the STOP DWI Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Lake Ave. in the Village of Lima for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. During the Deputy’s roadside investigation, it was discovered that the operator of the vehicle identified as Morris, was in possession of crack cocaine.
Deputy Sanford took Morris into custody with the assistance of Deputy Shawn Whitford.
Morris was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Avon Town Justice Jeannie Michalski ordered Morris held at the Livingston County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
