The Livingston County Department of Health (LCDOH) reports that, as of December 3, 2020, there are 61,118 negative and 815 positive cases of COVID-19 in Livingston County. Of these positive cases, 86 are active.
A COVID-19-related resident death is also being reported at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR).
Stephen Woodruff, CNR’s Director of Long-Term Care, stated, “Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the resident’s family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time. All of our residents are like family to the CNR staff, and this is very difficult news to share regardless of the situation.”
“We are truly saddened to lose a member of our CNR family,” said Livingston County Administrator Ian M. Coyle. “As we continue to see more cases of COVID-19 in our area nursing homes and senior living centers, I want to reassure folks that the CNR continues to follow the toughest restrictions and provide the best protections available in order to keep our residents and staff safe and healthy. This is an efficient, lethal and easily transmitted virus. Tragically, it preys on the most vulnerable of our population.”
Livingston County’s Director of Public Health, Jennifer Rodriguez, commented, “We are currently experiencing the highest levels of community spread since the pandemic started. To all Livingston County residents, please work together to keep each other healthy. Continue social distancing, wear masks, wash your hands, and stay home if you are sick to help control the spread of the virus.”
