Tyrellis Austin, 22, was previously sentenced to 54 months in prison for the robberies, the latest of which led to his arrest after a high-speed chase and a crash into a ditch on I-390 Northbound in Gates.
“I just want to say that I’m sorry for what I’ve done,” said Austin before sentencing. “I wish it had never happened.”
Austin’s new prison time will run concurrent to, or at the same time as, his federal sentence, so he will not spend any additional time in jail as a result of this sentence.
Austin’s cousin and co-conspirator on the robberies, Derek Stanin, 21, of Rochester, was sentenced earlier to 51 months in state prison for the crimes.
