DANSVILLE – Sheriff Thomas Dougherty advises that Wednesday June 10th will be the date for Tammy Jo Alexander’s graveside ceremony.
On January 26, 2015 the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had identified “Jane Doe,” the young girl found murdered almost 36 years ago. The Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating the case since November of 1979.
The Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Tammy Jo’s family thought it appropriate to hold another ceremony now that her identity is finally known.
The ceremony will be held at the Greenmount Cemetery and will begin at 10 a.m., officiated by Reverend Dave Hotchkiss. The family advises the public is welcome to attend and has stated their sincere appreciation to Livingston County residents for the tremendous amount of love for Tammy Jo.
There will be no parking available at the cemetery. Parking will be provided at the Dansville Moose Club, 6 Main Street in Dansville. Transportation to and from will be courtesy of RTS Livingston. Attendees are asked to park at the Moose Club and the shuttle will pick them up there. Shuttle services will begin at 9 a.m.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Dougherty Funeral Home of Livonia, Gibney Monument Works Inc. and RTS Livingston, formerly known as Livingston Area Transportation Services (LATS) for donating their services for this special occasion.
