LIVINGSTON COUNTY – An inmate at the county jail who was arrested on June 7 for having multiple strips of suboxone pills in her cell pled guilty and was sentenced on Thursday.
Just 11 days after her contraband arrest, Katrina Gerew, 31, accompanied in court by her lawyer David Wade, entered a guilty plea at arraignment on a Superior Court Information to Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a D felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, an A misdemeanor.
Judge Dennis Cohen sentenced Gerew to ‘time served’ and 5 years of probation.
Gerew was originally at the jail for a family court violation when Sheriff’s Corrections Deputies Kelly Mychalishyn, Brenda Clark-Pierson, Corporal Larry Kennedy and Sergeant Jeff Hammond investigated and discovered the pills.
