LIVINGSTON COUNTY – Avon Town Supervisor David LeFeber is the new Chairman for the Board of Supervisors.
At their organizational meeting on Jan. 2, the Board of Supervisors unanimously voted for LeFeber, who was the only supervisor nominated.
“I look forward to working with all of you as well as the department heads and employees of the County as they are the ones out there working with our constituents on a daily basis and providing the necessary services,” a press release from Livingston County quoted LeFeber.
LeFeber appointed Dennis Mahus, North Dansville Town Supervisor, as his Vice Chair.
The press release pointed out that the Board conducts business through a system of three Committees: the Ways and Means Committee, the Human Services Committee, and the Public Services Committee. Each committee is made up of seven town supervisors, including one chairperson.
The Committee Chairs were appointed as follows: Ways and Means Chairperson: Dan Pangrazio, Caledonia Town Supervisor; Human Services Chairperson: Brenda Donohue, Conesus Town Supervisor; and Public Services Chairperson: Gerald Deming, York Town Supervisor.
The Board meets on every second and fourth Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Human Services and Public Services Committee meetings are held the first Tuesday and Wednesday respectively at 9 a.m. Ways and Means Committee meetings are held every second and fourth Monday at 1:30 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
