GENESEO – The first ever Halloween edition of the well-established Ramon Rocha 5K will launch its first costume contest.
The race itself is nationally accredited through U.S.A. Track and Field. It kicks off from St. Mary’s Church at 4 Avon Road, Geneseo, at 10 a.m.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Anyone can sign up at the Arc of Livingston-Wyoming’s website here.
The race benefits the Arc of Livingston-Wyoming, which is dedicated to ‘assisting people of varied abilities and ages to live full, independent, productive and dignified lives.’
The event is named for SUNY Geneseo professor Ramon Rocha, who helped found the Teresa House in Geneseo, a comfort care ministry for residents nearing the end of terminal illness, as well as a member of the Board of Directors for the Arc of Livingston-Wyoming.
The Ramon Rocha is the second race in the Geneseo trio, which started with the Oak Tree half Marathon and 5K and will end with SUNY Geneseo’s Friday Knight 5K.
