Cornfest Set to Kick off Saturday

AVON – Avon Rotary Club volunteers will roll out tents, kiosks and banners Friday night in anticipation of this year’s Corn Fest, which will run Saturday from 10a.m. to 11p.m.

Corn Fest is one of the most popular seasonal festivals in Western New York, featuring the legendary Corn Fest corn eating contest, more than 150 arts and crafts vendors, and live music by 11 local artists, including the Skycoasters, who were voted the number one cover band in Rochester.

Performers will play three separate stages all day, while visitors browse thousands of crafts pieces and great food from more than a dozen food vendors.

Proceeds benefit the Rotary Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, Avon Food Pantry, Teresa House, Avon Rotary-Lions Ambulance Service, Rotary International Youth Exchange students, and various community literacy programs.
