DANSVILLE – A brief high-speed chase ended in Dansville with NYS Police arresting a Fairport man on fleeing, reckless endangerment and marijuana charges.
According to news partner 13WHAM, Michael Eason, 21, was charged with several misdemeanors including Unlawful Fleeing in the Third Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, as well as unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.
State Police said that Eason was clocked speeding on I-390 at 83 mph, and when troopers tried to pull him over he took off at 90 mph.
Troopers set up spike strips by Exit 5 on 390, which blew out Eason’s passenger side tires. Still, Eason kept traveling, finally coming to a stop in the Village of Dansville.
He reportedly refused to open the car door after being told to do so.
According to police, Eason then physically resisted arrest.
Eason will answer his charges at a later date.
