“The investigation is continuing with the possibility of more charges to follow,” said Dougherty.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a local auto parts store where Arriaga was employed. It was alleged that Arriaga was stealing money from the store by supplying fraudulent receipts to recover payment from expenses that he incurred during the course of his employment.

The investigation alleges that between August 2016 and June 2017, Arriaga would supply his employer with duplicate gas receipts from the same purchase and collect double the reimbursement for the gas purchase. It is alleged that Arriaga collected well over $1,000 that he was not entitled to receive.

The investigation was handled by Sheriff’s Investigator Josh Monster.

Arriaga was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and held in pre-arraignment detention. The District Attorney’s Office recommended bail be set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

Dansville Village Justice Scott Kenney arraigned Arriaga and ordered him held in jail on the recommended bail.
