DANSVILLE – The Dansville Police Department arrested a man for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in scratch-off lottery tickets.
Stephen Gagnon, 22, was arrested for felony Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.
“The allegation is that Mr. Gagnon was taking tickets from his place of employment over several months,” said Assistant District Attorney Josh Tonra, who is prosecuting the case. “The value of those tickets quickly added up to exceed $8,600.”
Gagnon was arraigned in Livingston County Court by Superior Court Information, skipping Grand Jury review.
If found guilty, Gagnon could face a maximum of 7 years in prison.
He was released on his own recognizance (ROR), with no bail required, in Dansville. Judge Robert Wiggins allowed Gagnon to stay ROR.
Gagnon is represented by attorney Kevin Morabito.
He will return to Livingston County Court at a later date.
