DANSVILLE – State Police arrested three young out-of-county residents for allegedly possessing stolen firearms on 390 in Dansville.

According to a press release from New York State Police, two Mount Vernon, NY residents and one Stamford, CT resident were arrested for felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and felony Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree. The Stamford resident was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.
The GeneseeSun.com is withholding the teens’ names and photos because they are under age 19 and eligible for treatment as youthful offenders and could later have their arrest records sealed.
After stopping a 2002 Toyota Camry for allegedly driving 82 mph in a 65 mph zone, on 390 in the town of North Dansville, a State Police investigation alleged that the three possessed a loaded .44 caliber revolver and a loaded .22 caliber semiautomatic pistol.
The .44 caliber was reported stolen from a residence in the City of Poughkeepsie, NY.
The three allegedly claimed to be travelling to Buffalo NY for an unknown reason.
All three were arraigned in North Dansville Town Court. A Town Justice ordered two of the defendants held at the Livingston County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond and the other held on $7,500 cash or $15,000 bond.
All three are scheduled to appear in North Dansville Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
