GENESEO – The Geneseo Police Department arrested a Subway employee on a misdemeanor charge for allegedly giving away a block of cheese and a sandwich for free.

According to a press release from Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, a 19-year-old from Amherst was arrested for misdemeanor Petit Larceny. She is alleged to have given away a block of cheese and a sub for free from the Subway on (Rte. 20A) Lakeville Road.
“She said it was a friend she gave it to,” said Osganian. He confirmed that Subway reported the incident to Geneseo Police as a theft.
The teen could serve a maximum of one year in jail for the charge.
Geneseo Police issued her an appearance ticket for Geneseo Village Court.
