On March 10, an investigation began after a concerned person reported to Deputy Ross Gerace, who is the assigned Deputy Sheriff detailed to Keshequa as their School Resource Officer, that Bailey may have been having inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile female.

Though Gerace is an SRO, none of the alleged criminal activity in this case is believed to have occurred at Keshequa Central School.

Sheriff’s Investigator Gene Chichester of the Criminal Investigations Division, along with Livingston County Child Protective Services, joined in the investigation with Deputy Gerace.

Following the investigation, it is alleged that Bailey did have inappropriate sexual contact with the juvenile when she was under the age of 13.

Bailey was arrested on March 16 and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.

Bailey was later arraigned in the Town of Sparta before Judge Scollon, who went along with the recommendation of the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office and ordered Bailey held at the Livingston County Jail on $25,000 cash or $50,000 secured bond.
