LIVINGSTON COUNTY – On Monday, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office received two unexpected young visitors in the lobby of their headquarters in Geneseo.
According to the Sheriff’s Office’s facebook page, the two young girls, Cadi and Aurora Winslow, met with Undersheriff Matt Bean and explained that their organization simply delivers free cookies to law enforcement to lift their spirits.
“All of us at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office thank Cadi and Aurora for their sweet gesture,” posted the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. “Thank them for supporting our Deputies and all law enforcement!”
The girls explained that their program, “Cookies for a Cop” was founded in December of 2014 as a way to tell law enforcement that they are appreciated, and added that the news has been rough and officers have been under a tremendous amount of stress, uncertainty and unrest lately.
The girls wanted officers to know that people do care about them and felt something as simple as dropping off cookies to show their support can help ease what they are feeling.
