Convicted Sex Offender Arrested in Ithaca While Girl Friend Released Despite Her Warrants In Both Monroe and Ontario

 

A shoplifting couple detained at a Walmart in Ithaca got the attention of the US Marshals Service.  The man, wanted on a parole violation, was arrested.  The woman was released despite outstanding warrants in both Monroe and Ontario County.  Thus far no explanation as to why.

The United States Marshals Service announces the arrest of Christopher Campbell, 41, who was wanted on a Parole Violation warrant issued by New York State Parole in March 2020.  Campbell is a convicted sex offender who has been on the run from police with his girlfriend Tiffany Brown, 28.

On June 20, 2020, Campbell and Brown were apprehended by the Ithaca Police Department after being detained by Asset Protection in a Walmart located in Ithaca, NY for shoplifting.  Campbell allegedly gave a false name and DOB upon questioning by Walmart Asset Protection employee.  Campbell eventually admitted his identity and was taken into custody.  Brown was notified of her warrants from Ontario County and Monroe County but released at the scene.
