Congressman Chris Jacobs (NY-27) released the following statement after the Supreme Court blocked President Biden’s vaccine mandate for employers with over 100 employees.
“Today, the Supreme Court affirmed what I and my Republican colleagues have been saying for weeks: this vaccine mandate is unconstitutional and the President vastly overstepped his authority in trying to enforce it. While I am vaccinated, that is a decision that should only be made between an individual and their physician. President Biden – or any government official – should have no role in that private medical decision, and they certainly should not coerce people to get vaccinated out of a fear of termination or retaliation. The President must rescind this and his other mandates, and work instead to support small businesses and our economic recovery – not create more problems with his divisive and unconstitutional policies.
Jacobs has consistently advocated against vaccine mandates and lockdowns, arguing vaccine mandates are unconstitutional and a vast overreach of Presidential power. An in depth look at Jacobs advocacy against these mandates can be found here.
