CONESUS– A Lakeville man was pronounced dead on Monday after first responders pulled him from Conesus Lake and took him to the hospital.

The 76-year-old victim was allegedly seen struggling in the water near Wilkins Tract in Livonia at about 5p.m. by a passerby, who then called 911.
Though Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene within 3 minutes of the 911 call, and the victim was immediately taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The cause of death is still under investigation by Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty’s office.
Sheriff Dougherty, Captain Norman Zeh, Investigator Joshua Monster, Sgt Joseph Breu, Deputy Michael Williams, Deputy Caleb Cutting, Deputy Matt Moran, Deputy Matt Wood, and Deputy Kenneth Ippolitto all responded to the scene.
Assisting with the call was Livonia EMS, New York State Police, and Livingston County ALS.
Note: The Sheriff’s Office says that they will not release the victim’s name until his family have been notified of the incident.
